These are exciting times here at the Brookview Station Winery at Goold Orchards. There are new wine releases planned, fun, exciting events, a new local beverage trail and so much more!
This past fall we released our first red wine, Brookview Station’s “All Aboard,” a semi-dry red wine. Its touch of Noiret gives this wine a lightly spiced finish with just a hint of sweetness. We were very pleased this past spring to learn our first red wine had won a bronze medal at the Fingerlakes International Competition.
We have several wine releases planned for the upcoming harvest season, including “Sunset Charlie,” a rosé, and the release of our Whistle Stop White Reserve. For those of you asking about “Lotta Bing,” our sweet cherry wine . . . we will be releasing a slightly different new vintage cherry. “Son of a Bing” will be ready to go at the Annual Apple Festival, Columbus Day weekend.
Apple farms in the Hudson Valley that once numbered in the thousands, now number just a few hundred. This year we are celebrating a very special milestone, “The 100th Anniversary of Goold Orchards,” the home farm of our Brookview Station Winery. We are very proud to say “Goold Orchards is the oldest continuously family-operated apple farm in the Capital Region.” Our centennial harvest celebration begins with a special opening ceremony Labor Day Weekend and continues through the end of the year. For more events and updates follow us on Facebook.
