WINEMAKERJames Bateman
James Bateman grew up in the U.K. where he operated a courier company since leaving school. He emigrated to the United States in 1999, spending three years commercial flight training, attaining the qualifications of commercial pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings. The aviation career did not take off which lead to establishing Windham Vineyards.
Valerie Bateman grew up in Queens where she went into banking, taking very good care of her customers from her branch on Third Avenue in New York City. With an interest in farming since attending John Brown College for agriculture, setting up the vineyard and winery allowed her to get back to her passion for the soil.
Windham Vineyards is the highest elevation vineyard and winery in the Northeast.

A semi dry blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, on American & French oak. The current release is a blend of the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009 harvests. Most importantly and quite unusually, the slight residual sugar in this signature blend is the natural unfermented sugar of the grapes used in the wine.
2008 BUTTER RIDGEBy popular demand we have released a medium sweet Chardonnay that is oaky, buttery, and full of fun.
MAPLE SYRUP DESSERT WINEPure Grade A local maple syrup blended with Late Harvest Vignoles. This by all standards is in the ice wine category of quality, sweetness and flavor. 24% residual sugar and alcohol 10%.
